Lessons
ISR provides personalized, one-on-one swim instruction for children from 6 months to 6 years old. Our proven method uses brief, focused daily sessions: 10 minutes each day, Monday through Friday, for approximately 6 weeks.
Every child develops unique water survival skills based on their age and abilities. The fundamental skill all children master is the ability to roll onto their back to float, rest, and breathe—maintaining this life-saving position until help arrives.
Skill Sets
Rollback to Float
Children 6-12 Months Old
Generally speaking, children ages 6 months to 1 year learn the ISR Self-Rescue skill of rolling onto their backs to float, rest and breathe. They learn to maintain this position until help arrives.
Swim-Float-Swim
Children 1-6 Years Old
Older, more mobile children will learn the full ISR Self-Rescue sequence of swimming until they need air, rotating onto the back to float, then rolling back over to continue swimming. ISR students are taught to repeat this sequence until they reach the safety of the steps, side of the pool, or the shoreline.
